Danielle Vasinova – twitter.com/Vasinova

Clare Grant – twitter.com/ClareGrant
Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Clare Grant is the nerdy version of the girl next door. Her first on screen role had her working alongside actor Joaquin Phoenix in Walk the Line. From there, she has made her career a fun and certainly creative profession to watch. More recently, she is taking over Youtube with her ‘Team Unicorn’ and has been green lit for a pilot on Adult Swim.

Rileah Vanderbilt – twitter.com/Rileah
As a key part of Team Unicorn, Rileah Vanderbilt works with Clare Grant on a daily basis. Born and raised in Colorado, she is a known geek who loves all things fantasy and comic related, including Stars Wars. Her big break was in 2005s Hatchet after starting young and being involved in community Theatre Groups. She is now working on a series for Team Unicorn for Adult Swim.

Bean – twitter.com/noellebean
Dallas-born, Nashville-raised, and Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and performer Noelle Bean began going by the surname “Bean” after her high school music teacher chose to address the budding musician by the one word alone. She was handpicked as 1 of 25 artists in the Macy’s and iHeartRadio “Rising Star” campaign, while both Pandora and iTunes created a “Bean Radio” channel. Her music appeared everywhere from OK TV to spots for Mitsubishi and Coca Cola’s Fantasy Soccer Camp. Meanwhile, she became a live draw opening for the likes of Colbie Caillat, Megan & Liz, Hot Chelle Rae, and Austin Mahone as well as giving a show-stopping set at Bonnaroo 2013. Everything has merely led up to the impending release of her two 2014 digital mini-albums—one in the spring and one in the fall—culminating in a physical special edition with extra tracks for the holidays.

Production is underway on the Team Unicorn Saturday Action Fun Hour! pilot forAdult Swim. Penned by Dan Milano (Greg The Bunny) and inspired by the Team Unicorn cartoons, the pilot is described as a modern twist on Saturday morning-style cartoon/live-action hybrid shows, but for adults. It follows the adventures of the four mythical heroines who masquerade as human girls. Danger Maiden Prods’ Clare Grant and Rileah Vanderbilt executive produce and star alongside original Team Unicorn member Milynn Sarley (How I Met Your Mother) and Alison Haislip (Attack Of The Show) as both Team Unicorn and their cartoon counterparts. Jane Lynch (Glee, Hollywood Game Night) voices the villainous Dark Puba; Alan Tudyk (Suburgatory) voices her sidekick, Chummy Cherub; Tara Strong (The Fairly OddParents) voices Billy, the boy with the ability to summon Team Unicorn; and Kevin Shinick (Mad) is the show’s announcer. Robot Chicken creators Seth Greenand Matthew Senreich serve as executive producers for Stoopid Buddy Stoodios. Green is directing the pilot.

Danger Maiden Productions was formed in 2009 when Grant and Vanderbilt wrote/produced and starred in the viral video Saber, which won Best Action and the Audience Awards at the Lucasfilm Fan Awards. Recently they completed the trilogy, which has racked up more than 7 million views collectively. Team Unicorn first was introduced to geek and female empowerment fans in 2010 via G33K & G4M3R Girls, written and produced by its original members. The viral-video sensation captured a million views in its first week as a geek-centric parody of Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” music video. Other Team Unicorn videos include Alien Beach Crashers, SuperHarmony, A Very Zombie Holiday and For The Win.

SO MUCH LOVE! THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!

Just wanted to take a sec to thank all you guys out there for being so supportive of our Wonder Woman project!  It’s been such a surreal and awesome experience.  I had hoped it would do well, but I never expected it to blow up the way it did.  4 million views in just a week…it’s kinda crazy pants!!  We’ve heard through the grapevine that the peeps over at Warner Bros. and DC have seen it and love it!  That still doesn’t mean that all of a sudden they are going to stop what they’re doing and hire our team to make a movie or television series, but at least they took notice and are really excited about the direction we took the character and franchise in.  I love this character and I so hope that I get to play her again!  Below are a couple of links to interviews and press about the project:)

xoxo,

Ri

One of the neatest things was seeing the short trend all over the internet.  Not only were we front and center on youtube for a couple of days but we were the number one trending topic on Yahoo, Google, and Google +!

WONDER WOMAN ON GOOD MORNING AMERICA!

Um, so weird and incredible waking up to this!  Yay!!!!

WONDER WOMAN!!

ww_logo

As most of you know, I recently got to work on an epic Wonder Woman project with Rainfall Films!  If any of you are a nerd like me, you know all the controversy surrounding this character and why Hollywood hasn’t made a decent movie or TV show.  Joss Whedon tried to make it work, but the studios weren’t having it.  Then there was that awful David E. Kelly pilot, where Diana sat around, ate ice cream and cried the entire time.  Did I mention the utterly terrible costume?  Yeah, I’m pretty sure you can find a replica in a stripper store on Hollywood Blvd.  Now, we hear rumors that there’s a new script for the CW, AMAZON that execs have shelved for the time being to focus on The Flash…seriously, The Flash?!  Not that I have anything against Barry Allen is his fantastic red spandex suit, but why can’t we figure out how to make Wonder Woman work??  That’s the question that Rainfall Films has set out to answer with this short concept piece created to get Hollywood thinking differently about this iconic character.

ww_announcement

Luckily for me, they were so kind and generous to offer me the part of Diana in this web project! Seriously guys, I can’t begin to tell you what a dream come true this was for me.  As a geek, as well as an actor, this role is the kind  you can only hope for.  No, it’s not on network T.V. and It’s not a major motion picture, It’s just a small labor of love by fans done on a minuscule budget, but I can honestly say that it has been one of the best experiences I’ve ever had working in this industry.  I mean how many people can actually say that they get to portray a superhero for awhile?? ZOMG!

ww_amazons_still

I felt it was really important to depict Diana as accurately as possible…well, as accurately as we imagine her to be anyway:)  For the ten weeks leading up to the shoot, all I did was train and diet.  I even blogged about the process, which some of you actually followed!  Hopefully, I helped a couple of you to reach your fitness goals as well.  I’m a fairly in shape person, but I felt like I lacked the “amazonian” presence that Wonder Woman is supposed to have so I sought out to put some muscle on.  I wish I had had a couple more months to really define the look, but I must say I was pretty pleased with the results overall with the time I had.  Also, got to do all my own stunts which was so much fun!!  Our stunt coordinator, Surawit Sae Kang and his guys did an outstanding job making me look like I could kick some ass!  Definitely one of the highlights of being an actor for me is kicking ass on screen and looking good doing it, haha!

A009_C011

Another thing that was really important for me in doing this role, was that the costume was correct.  In the case of Wonder Woman, I feel like the costume is just as iconic as the character.  You can’t have one without the other as we’ve seen in other incarnations of this hero.  Sure, the spandex bodysuit works well in the comics, but how does that translate to live action?  Well, it really doesn’t.  So, Heather Greene our wonderfully talented costume designer designed a functional costume that still kept true to the feel of it’s predecessors.  Not only did she create an updated realistic version of the costume, but she kept in mind the balance between Diana in Themyscira and Wonder Woman in our world.  I may be bias, but I really feel like this is probably the best costume I’ve ever seen for Wonder Woman, and I am so humbled and proud that I get to wear it!!!!!!!  I think back to my final fitting before the shoot, where I put on the full costume for the first time, and seeing myself in it, actually made me tear up a bit!  Haha!  I don’t even think I teared up when I found my wedding dress!  It was just such an emotional experience for me, as a fan to see this costume come to life and be the most perfect version of it possible.  I can only describe it as a very out-of-body experience:)

photoThis entire process has been so surreal for me.  I watch this as a fan and sometimes forget that it’s me that I’m watching…I just geek out and have to remind myself that i’m actually in the costume.  SO FREAKIN’ COOL!  I have to thank our director Sam Balcomb for putting all his resources and his faith behind doing this.  He’s an avid Wonder Woman fan and has done such an amazing job with every detail in trying to give us all a feel for what a live action Wonder Woman movie or television show could look like.  Also, a big thank you to all you fans out there who have gotten behind the stills and pictures that we’ve been posting since San Diego Comic Con.  The response has been so positive, and we’re delighted that for the most part, you guys are really excited to see what our version of Wonder Woman is!  I really hope you guys like this project as much as I do!!

Again, I just want to say that this is a CONCEPT piece.  It’s not a film with a thru narrative.  That may be disappointing for some of you, but for being a self funded project, there’s only so much Rainfall could do and still give you this quality.  So no tears or geek angst, kay?? :) FOR A BETTER VIEWING EXPERIENCE PLEASE WATCH IT FULL SCREEN AND FULL RESOLUTION.  It’s even more amazeballz, trust me;)
