Vanderbilt grew up in Cripple Creek, Colorado, a small mountain town on the backside of Pikes Peak.  She has a younger brother and sister.  From a very early age she was involved with school and community theatre as well as organized school sports including cheerleading, volleyball, basketball, track and baseball.  After graduating high school, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting.  Before settling into a career as an actress, Vanderbilt attended Make Up Designory in Burbank, California.  A trade school specializing in film and television beauty, character, and SFX make-up.

She’s a known geek and enjoys comics, video games, costuming, fantasy books, Star Wars and all things Sci-fi.

Vanderbilt landed her first on-camera role in Hatchet in 2005.  She played the deformed ‘Young Victor Crowley’, a part she was given because of her expertise with make-up.  She has co-starred with Joel David Moore from Avatar in 2006s Spiral, and Shawn Ashmore and Kevin Zegers in the 2010 Official Sundance Film Festival selection, Frozen. In 2010, she reprised her role in Hatchet 2 and acted in Milo Ventimiglias web-series Ultradome.

In 2011, Vanderbilt made a cameo on season five of Felicia Day’s hit web series The Guild as a snarky ‘Princess Leia’.  Along with her husband director/writer Adam Green, created the web pilot Sexy Nightmare Slayers which she also starred in along with Clare Grant.  Vanderbilt also co-starred with Serena Williams in a racy and controversial commercial for 2k Sports’ Top Spin 4 video game.
Vanderbilt and Grant with their company Danger Maiden Productions in association with Ariescope Pictures, co-created, produced and starred in the short film Saber which won two awards at the 2009 Star Wars Fan Film Awards: Best Action and Audience Choice.  You can find her wielding a light saber against Grant again in Saber 2: The Body Wash Strikes Back in which they teamed up with Chris Hardwick’s company Nerdist for in 2012. Vanderbilt also co-created and starred in the Team Unicorn web hits G33k & G4M3R Girls, (2011 L.A. Weekly award recipient for Best Web Video) A Very Zombie HolidaysuperHarmony, Alien Beach Crashers, and For The Win.  All parodies created by Team Unicorn members Vanderbilt, Grant, Michele Boyd and Milynn Sarley.  A group of friends and actresses dedicated to spreading geek awareness. Team Unicorn is currently developing a show with Adult Swim for Turner Broadcasting.

In 2013, you will find Vanderbilt playing ‘Pandora’ in the indie horror movie The Pandora Experimentrevisiting the swamps in Hatchet 3, guest starring on the horror-centric television series Holliston, and kicking ass in the web series Grayson: Earth One.
Both Team Unicorn and Danger Maiden Productions are currently in production on many other projects that will debut in 2013.
